Volunteers Needed for Christmas Lights set up
Saturday, November 3 – 1:00 pm

Help create the magic of Lemon Park Lights! Dress warm, bring your friends and enjoy a day in Lemon Park!

Winter Freezer Meals
You will leave with ten freezer meals, ready to go! All groceries and necessary supplies will be provided. Please bring a large cooler, box or large bag to transport the meals home.
The cost is $100, payment must be received by Tuesday, October 16, make checks payable to Skyline Schools. Pick up dates are November 8 and 9 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Meals include: easy peasy roast, taco chili, lemon rosemary chicken, maple chicken, sweet potato pork chops, buffalo chicken, ham & bean soup, sweet garlic chicken, cheesesteak sloppy joe and sweet & spicy chicken.  Any questions, please contact Cheri Haskett at 620-388-6673 or chaskett@skylineschools.org. Each meal will feed a family of 4-6 people.
 
Lion’s Club Annual Drawing
Tickets available from any Lion’s Club member or you can pick them up at the Chamber. Tickets are $1 a piece or 6 for $5. Lots of great gifts and prizes including a side of beef donated by Xtra Factors & Pratt Feeders, processing by T&W Meats. Drawing will be held the second Wednesday of December.
 
Hope Center & Agape Health Clinic
The Hope Center and the Agape Health Clinic in Pratt are seeking a Director. There is potential for the same person to fill both positions to be full time. Applications and job descriptions can be picked up at the Hope Center, 314 S Main St. To request an application by email, send an email to hopeagapeapplication@gmail.com. Applications will be accepted until Friday November 16th or the position is filled.

Rock the Vote – Election Day
Tuesday, November 6
City Residents vote at the Community Center – 619 N. Main Street
County Residents vote at the Church of Christ – 320 Country Club Road
The Pratt Area Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Committee is sponsoring Free Ride Day in recognition of everyone’s right to vote on Tuesday, November 6. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “Those who stay away from the election think that one vote will do no good. Tis’ but one step more to think one vote will do no harm”. So on November 6 get your free rides with General Public Transportation by calling 620-672-7811. Let’s get out there and rock the vote! You do not need to vote to receive a free ride that day, however you will get a cool sticker if you do!
 
Charting the LifeCourse Event
Tuesday, November 6 – 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Pratt Public Library – West Auditorium
Participants will learn how to have conversations with individuals and families about a vision for a good life and how to achieve it using the Charting the LifeCourse framework. They will explore how the life domanin helps plot a trajectory towards a successful life, across the lifespan. This is a free event for the community, however seating is limited so please RSVP to reserve your spot by calling Tasha or Linda at 620-672-9600. Limited scholarships are also available to help with travel costs.

National Diabetes Education Week is November 3-9th and was created to encourage people with diabetes to learn how to self-manage their disease, which includes healthy eating. PRMC’s Dietitian Stephanie Becker is hosting a FREE class that will focus on healthy eating, meal planning and more. You will work on a menu to take home, and learn good choices when shopping or eating out. Call 450-1425 to save a seat!

Pratt County Extension Master Gardener’s invite you to explore your creative side with a holiday door swag workshop let by Lynne Moss of the Flower Shoppe. Each participant will make and take home a holiday-themed door swag. Participants are asked to bring a sturdy set of clippers, all other supplies will be furnished. Pratt Public Library presents: The Makerspace
A makerspace is a collaborative work space for making, learning, exploring & sharing that uses high tech to no tech tools. The maker mindset is one of creating something out of nothing & exploring your own interests. These spaces are also helping to prepare those who need the critical 21st century skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering, art & math (STEAM). Makerspaces are also fostering entrepreneurship & are being utilized as incubators for business startups. The Maker Zone @ Pratt Public Library is open to all ages Monday-Wednesday 10 am-5 pm. After hours crafting class are also held on many Tuesday nights. We have a variety of maker equipment including Circuit die cut machines, soldering iron, sewing machine, binding machine, jewelry making supplies, yarn, scrapbooking supplies, hot glue guns, cardboard, LEGOs & art supplies. Our staff is available to assist in creating, finding supplies & brainstorming.
