Happy Friday!

 

The Skyline FFA Chapter will be collecting gently used coats, hats and gloves. Items can be dropped off in the commons area or the multipurpose area at Skyline Schools. All donations will go to those in need in Pratt County. Donations will be accepted until
Saturday, December 8.

 
Toys for Tots
Pratt County Toys for Tots is now accepting requests for assistance. If you would like to request toys for your child ages 0-18, visit the local website at www.pratt-ks.toysfortots.org click request a toy under Give & Receive, click on Family Toy Request Form and complete the online application. A Toys for Tots representative will then contact you.

If you would like to donate a new, unwrapped toy, please visit the website above and click on Toy Drop Offs to find a collection site.

Lion’s Club Annual Drawing
Tickets available from any Lion’s Club member or you can pick them up at the Chamber. Tickets are $1 a piece or 6 for $5. Lots of great gifts and prizes including a side of beef donated by Xtra Factors & Pratt Feeders, processing by T&W Meats. Drawing will be held the second Wednesday of December.

Shelter Fundamentals Class
Thursday, December 6
Pratt Community Center – 619 N Main Street
This training for Pratt County and Surrounding County Agencies (Non-Government and Government partners) it is sponsored by Pratt County Emergency Management, and Central and Western Kansas Chapter of the American Red Cross. Please register by email to: sarah.wickham@redcross.org or contact Sarah at 620-655-2251 for more information. The target audience includes all agencies that provide assistance during disaster recovery-including non-government organizations, community groups, charities, faith based organizations, and all levels of government – city, county and state. Shelter Fundamentals is a basic level course that introduces the guidelines and procedures for setting up, running and closing a shelter during a disaster. Referencing shelter checklists, participants will work on a case study that takes them through four of the six phases of the sheltering cycle.

Pratt Public Library presents: The Makerspace
A makerspace is a collaborative work space for making, learning, exploring & sharing that uses high tech to no tech tools. The maker mindset is one of creating something out of nothing & exploring your own interests. These spaces are also helping to prepare those who need the critical 21st century skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering, art & math (STEAM). Makerspaces are also fostering entrepreneurship & are being utilized as incubators for business startups. The Maker Zone @ Pratt Public Library is open to all ages Monday-Wednesday 10 am-5 pm. After hours crafting class are also held on many Tuesday nights. We have a variety of maker equipment including Circuit die cut machines, soldering iron, sewing machine, binding machine, jewelry making supplies, yarn, scrapbooking supplies, hot glue guns, cardboard, LEGOs & art supplies. Our staff is available to assist in creating, finding supplies & brainstorming.
