The Farmers’ Market has started a night market! Join them on Wednesday evenings starting at 5:00 pm, through October 31.

Extension Master Gardener Training
February 6, 2019 – March 27, 2019
Training will be a 8 week long class with a workshop each Wednesday. Registration will be $80 for anyone who signs up before October 1, 2018 and $100 for anyone to sign up after that date. Lots to learn, Basic Botany, Soils, Entomology. Vegetable Garden, Turfgrass, Indoor Gardening, Pesticide Use and much more.Contact the Pratt Extension office 620-672-6121 for more information.
 
Leadership Cares 5K Run/Walk
Saturday, September 22 – Registration 8:00-8:45 am; Race at 9:00 am

Free showing of a short film documentary about a rising high school senior who sets out to uncover the growing problem of teens abusing prescription medicine in his hometown.
Followed by a panel discussion and Q&A.

Join us as we welcome Steve Dickie, Founder and Executive Director of the CharacterWorks Group, a non-profit organization that coaches’ leadership from the inside out.  Steve is also the Character Development Coach for the Wichita State Shockers Men’s Basketball team. He has served in Coach Gregg Marshall‘s program for 7 years and been an important component in seasons that have included 7 straight invitations to the NCAA tournament, 4 Missouri Valley Conference Championships, a trip to the Final Four in 2013, a record breaking ride to 35 straight victories and undefeated regular season in 2014, a run to the Sweet Sixteen in 2015 and NCAA tournament seasons in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Steve has been featured on ESPN and written about in Sports Illustrated and several national and regional publications including the Wichita Eagle, Kansas City Star, Saint Louis Post-Dispatch and the Kansas Leadership Journal.
 
Sponsorships and tickets are available by calling the Chamber at 672-5501. General admission tickets are $30 and include dinner and drinks. Tickets for the VIP reception and Gala are $50.
 
Second Annual Hot & Cold Big Rig Truck Show
Saturday, October 6
Corner of Highway 61 and Highway 54
After more than 55 years of experience in the trucking industry, Southwest Truck Parts will host the second annual “Hot & Cold Big Rig Truck Show.” There will be over 20 truck industry vendor displays, a kid’s zone with train rides, sand pit, balloon animals and more; food vendors and end the night with a free concert by the Aaron Woods Band followed by a laser light show and fireworks. Witches & Brew – Ladies Night Out
Thursday, October 11 – 5:00 – 8:30 pm
There will be fun, fashion, refreshments and drawings! The Grand Prize drawing is valued at more than $500 and includes a genius 3-D mammogram screening from Pratt Regional Medical Center. The Family Crisis Center will also be at the Chamber with information on Domestic Violence Awareness month.
 
Break out your costumes Ladies as we are also having a costume contest that night. Voting will be done online so stop by the Chamber and let John Patton Photography take your picture for contest entry. Prizes will be awarded for the entry with the most votes!

Permanent Collection Showcase
North Gallery
Saturday, March 24 – Saturday, September 29
This exhibition highlights pastels and photographs from the Dr. Vernon & Emily “Mimi” Filley Permanent Collection. The exhibition also features new works of art that were recently donated to the museum permanent collection. Several of these pieces have not yet been on display at the museum. The 7 newly accessioned works include: A Lithograph by R.C. Gorman that was donated to the museum in 2017 by Dr. James and Mary Ann Van Blaricum; a bronze sculpture by George Lundeen that was donated to the museum in 2017 by Pratt Glass (LeRoy and Susan Jones); a ceramic vase and bowl by Carol Long that was donated to the museum in 2016 by the Larrison Family and Dough Brehm; a bronze sculpture by Tim Joseph commissioned and donated to the museum by The Shinkle Family in 2015; a spirited gear sculpture by Luis Perez-Aguayo that was donated to the museum in 2018 by Dale Withers; and the Courtyard Iron Gates by Dustin Sypher, which were commissioned and donated to the museum in 2014 by Doug & Kay Knight.
