Vaccine Update 2/19/2021

Pratt County is currently in Phase 2 of COVID-19 vaccine distribution. Vaccine doses are still in limited supply. This week we did not receive any primary doses due to the weather.

If you have completed the survey you are on the waiting list. We will call you when we have vaccine available for you. Calls will come from the Pratt County Health Department or Pratt Internal Medicine Group.

Senior Administrative Assistant – Position #K0214885

This full-time, unclassified Senior AdministrativeAssistant position provides support to the Fisheries, Wildlife & Public Lands Divisions at the Pratt Operations Office, and is supervised by Tara Pagenkopf, Senior Administrative Specialist.

The primary responsibilities of this position include completing payment and remittance vouchers for processing, maintaining associated files, and preparing and processing agency purchase orders for equipment needs. The incumbent will process and maintain Nuisance Wildlife Damage Control and Rehabilitation permits; provide general information to assist the public; handle inquiries regarding iSportman daily hunt registrations and checkin/out; help with special hunt permit applications, forms or requested information from users; compose general correspondence and maintain a central filing system; mail appropriate department literature to resource users; sort and route incoming mail; assist with maintaining office supply inventory; assist with booking travel arrangements and conference reservations; and completes other special projects as assigned.

Monday – Thursday 10:00 am to 7:00 pm

Preschool Activities:

Virtual Story Time – every Thursday at 10:00 am

Join Miss Lea Ann on Facebook, Instagram YouTube and Pinterest as she sings & reads. Each child who watches will be able to mark a circle on their reading chart.

February 1 – 28 Kid’s Winter Bingo Reading Challenge

Children who participate will be able to obtain a free saucer sled. Children will receive a Bingo card and if they read or listen to a book from 5 categories in a row and report their favorite part or something, they learned from those 5 books, they will receive a sled. Children can start picking up their Bingo cards November 2 and the Challenge will continue through the end of February. The program is for children ages 3 through 4th grade. Parental consent is required to participate.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Do you have a child under the age of five? We’d love for you and your child to join the Pratt Public Library’s 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Program! Did you know that reading to your child is one of the most powerful ways to boost his or her brain power? The simple and enjoyable act helps your child learn pre-reading skills such as understanding the sounds letters make, developing a bigger vocabulary, and building background knowledge – all important skills that help prepare your child for learning to read and entering kindergarten. The 1000 Books Before Kindergarten program is a fun, exciting, and free way to start your child on the path to success! Any child ages birth to five years can participate. Sign up at the Pratt Public Library and get your free materials.

Kindergarten – 4th Grade Activities:

The Thursday after-school program will look a little different this year, instead of meeting at the library and doing an activity, we will have a take & make craft or activity. If you aren’t able to make it to pick up your kit or miss a week, no problem, kits will be available until they are all gone .

Fifth – Twelfth Grade Activities:

All Teen activities have been moved to the Teen Center located at 408 S Main Street.

Open weekdays from 3:45 to 6:00 pm; Tuesdays until 7:30 pm.

With school starting up again, whether in person or online, you may just need some extra help. We have a team of people ready, willing & able to tutor! Elementary, Middle School, High School or College. No matter the age or grade. Free tutoring is offered to everyone! Talk to Eric Scott Killough today & set up a time for tutoring!

Vernon Filley Art Museum

Please call ahead to schedule a time to visit the Gift Shoppe and Holiday Exhibit. (620) 933-2787. If you visit spontaneously, we will be happy to admit you if the Art Museum is empty. Order online or call for curbside pickup!

Limit to 5 customers in the facility at a time

Social distancing will be maintained by anyone entering the museum, masks will be encouraged

Items in the gift shop will be handled by staff only and doors will be propped open wherever possible to avoid touching surfaces

Orders from the gift shop and galleries will still be available online and for curbside pickup, in addition to in-person at the museum!
