Circles of Hope, Pratt County – Big View

First United Methodist Church – First & Main
Circles of Hope, Pratt County is planning its quarterly Big View. Circles is an anti-poverty group working alongside folks experiencing poverty. Through education, training and intentional friendship forward progress is made.  A Big View is a community level discussion to help raise awareness of issues effecting the entire community. This quarter the topic is substance abuse. A panel discussion will include a member of the medical field, a recovering addict, and others aware of the problem in Pratt County. We will look at the level of the problem locally, the challenges and the potential help that may move Pratt to a healthier place

Hosted by the Skyline High School and Middle School Cross Country teams, sponsored by supportive local businesses! Fees: 5K Timed Race, $25 or 1 Mile Fun Run, $20, includes t-shirt and one raffle tickets. $10 late registration fee if you register after July 31. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in Men’s, Women’s, and under 12 categories. Kid Zone – $15 with t-shirt, $10 without for children 10 and under. To register, pick up a registration form at Skyline School or at the Pratt Area Chamber of Commerce.

Permanent Collection Showcase
North Gallery

This exhibition highlights pastels and photographs from the Dr. Vernon & Emily “Mimi” Filley Permanent Collection. The exhibition also features new works of art that were recently donated to the museum permanent collection. Several of these pieces have not yet been on display at the museum. The 7 newly accessioned works include: A Lithograph by R.C. Gorman that was donated to the museum in 2017 by Dr. James and Mary Ann Van Blaricum; a bronze sculpture by George Lundeen that was donated to the museum in 2017 by Pratt Glass (LeRoy and Susan Jones); a ceramic vase and bowl by Carol Long that was donated to the museum in 2016 by the Larrison Family and Dough Brehm; a bronze sculpture by Tim Joseph commissioned and donated to the museum by The Shinkle Family in 2015; a spirited gear sculpture by Luis Perez-Aguayo that was donated to the museum in 2018 by Dale Withers; and the Courtyard Iron Gates by Dustin Sypher, which were commissioned and donated to the museum in 2014 by Doug & Kay Knight.
