Due to the uptick in COVID numbers in Pratt, the Chamber will be closed to walk-ins and Kim will be working from home. Pratt County Extension Master Gardeners present: Holiday Centerpiece Workshop
Wednesday, November 18 – 12:00 Noon to 1:00 pm
Pratt Area 4-H Center – 81 Lake Road
Start your holiday decorating with a piece of fresh greenery that will set your home apart! This workshop will be led by Lynne Moss of The Flower Shoppe. Please bring ribbon scissors and a sturdy set of clippers. Fresh greenery will be availvable, but you are welcome to bring artificial greenery to use if you prefer, all other supplies will be furnished. If you are interested in attending, please call the Extension Office at 620-672-6121 to reserve your spot. Cost is $20 and the class will be limited to 35 participants. No lunch will be served and facemasks will be required for all participants.

Community Thanksgiving Dinner

This year’s community Thanksgiving will be a little different as there will ONLY be carry out or delivery. Each meal will be individually sealed and ready to eat. Donations are accepted, there is not a charge for the dinner.  To reserve your meals or to schedule a delivery, please call 672-7811.
Rudolph Run 5K Run/Walk
Saturday, December 5 – 6:00 pm
Dickerson Field in Lemon Park
Come enjoy the Christmas lights and run/walk through Lemon & Sixth Street parks! Pre-register by November 20 for $25 and receive a race shirt. You can also register on race day but you are not guaranteed a race shire. The race will begin and end in Dickerson Field and race packets can be picked up at the registration table beginning at 5:15 pm that evening. Position Description
The store manager has responsibility for all store operations, including maintenance of facilities, controllable investment (inventory and accounts receivable), marketing, merchandising, sales, cost containment, personnel management, customer relations and employee motivation.
He/she is responsible for the purchase of merchandise and services for the store.. The manager must meet the company’s margin and investment goals, and function within the parameters of the operating budget.
The store manager is responsible for general accounting duties, receipts, cash handling, and collections; management of the office, including hiring and supervising personnel, maintenance of equipment, correspondence with suppliers and customers; and other duties assigned by the general office.
The store manager develops plans to meet customer requirements and estimates the cost of materials and labor. He/she develops plans and specifications for home and/or commercial construction projects, compiles lists of materials from blueprints.
The store manager accomplishes his or her objectives by personal action and/or delegation of responsibilities as appropriate. He or she is directly responsible to the yard supervisor and general manager. The store manager must perform all assigned tasks with sufficient speed, accuracy, and timeliness to avoid adverse impact on the required level of customer service.

What’s Happening @ Your Library –November 2020
Have tech questions? The Pratt Public Library can help. If you need help with your computer, e-reader, tablet, etc. call 620-672-3041 or email to set up an appointment or text your questions to 620-263-0182.
Please notice that we have new procedures in the library. There are signs posted all over the library to inform you of these changes. Things are different.
Please be patient with us as we transition into a new normal.

The Library is currently open to the public for pick up and drop off services, computers are still available but social distancing is being observed and masks are not required but encouraged. Tutoring is also available.
Kid’s Winter Bingo Reading Challenge
November 1 – 30
Children who participate will be able to obtain a free saucer sled. Children will receive a Bingo card and if they read or listen to a book from 5 categories in a row and report their favorite part or something they learned from those 5 books, they will receive a sled. Children can start picking up their Bingo cards November 2 and the Challenge will continue through the end of February. The program is for children ages 3 through 4th grade. Parental consent is required to participate.
Preschool Activities:
 Virtual Story Time – every Thursday at 10:00 am
Join Miss Lea Ann on Facebook, Instagram YouTube and Pinterest as she sings & reads. Each child who watches will be able to mark a circle on their reading chart.
Kindergarten – 4th Grade Activities:
October 1 – 31 StoryWalk at Lemon Park will run the entire month of September & October! Talk a walk, read the story, then come to the library & take a short quiz to earn a prize.
The Thursday after-school program will look a little different this year, instead of meeting at the library and doing an activity, we will have a take & make craft or activity. If you aren’t able to make it to pick up your kit or miss a week, no problem, kits will be available until they are all gone .

November 12 – LEGO Challenge – Turkeys (to be built with your own LEGO’s)

Cake Decorating Competition
November 1 – 19
This is open to all ages. It would be a great project to do with your significant other, your kids, your grandkids, your bestie or maybe a whole group of strangers! LOL! Here’s the rules: Participants must use a cake pan checked out from Pratt Public Library. Once your culinary creation is complete, you must submit no less than 5 pictures along with a description. Feel free to begin anytime! You can even do it today! However, the pictures & description must be submitted no later than Thursday, November 19th. This will allow our judges the whole weekend to pick their top 3. The winners will then be announced on Monday, November 23rd. Chamber Bucks, $100 for 1st, $75 for 2nd & $25 for 3rd, will be awarded to the winners. Please send your information through FB Messenger or email to Here is the link to the FB event:

Every 1,000 pages read = $10 donation to the Angel Tree Program by our business sponsors, The People’s Bank, Stanion Wholesale Electric, Southwest Truck Parts Inc.& Main Street Dental. Enroll @ the library, keep track of your page numbers then turn into the library.
Group Project
November 1 – 13
We will be submitting an entry for the Filley Festival of Trees, Wreaths & Holiday Decorations. We need your help to create ornaments & garland. We will also need help setting it all up @ the Vernon Filley Art Museum on Friday, November 13th. If you have 20 mins or 2 hours, come into the Maker Zone during business hours & help us create! This will be a free exhibit for the community 11/17-1/9. Here is the link to their FB event:

We will have 3 holiday projects you can create in the Maker Zone. You can choose to do 1 or all 3 at no charge.
FREE Tuturing:
With school starting up again, whether in person or online, you may just need some extra help. We have a team of people ready, willing & able to tutor! Elementary, Middle School, High School or College. No matter the age or grade. Free tutoring is offered to everyone! Talk to Eric Scott Killough today & set up a time for tutoring!

Vernon Filley Art Museum
For Museum Hours and Admission Fees, please visit
Limit to 5 customers in the facility at a time
Social distancing will be maintained by anyone entering the museum, masks will be encouraged
Items in the gift shop will be handled by staff only and doors will be propped open wherever possible to avoid touching surfaces
Orders from the gift shop and galleries will still be available online and for curbside pickup, in addition to in-person at the museum!

Movie @ The Barron
During this time, each Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, the Barron will be offering curbside service of your favorite popcorn, drink, caramel popcorn, cotton candy, candy & pickles. Orders can be placed by pulling into the yellow lined area at the front of the theater or by calling or texting 620-388-5236. For shorter wait times, you may preorder and giving an estimated time of arrival.
