Wednesday night at the Market!
The Farmers’ Market has started a night market! Join them on Wednesday evenings starting at 5:00 pm, through October 31.

Main Street Dental Giveaway “CREST PRO-HEALTH (HD) TOOTHPASTE KIT” which includes fluoride toothpaste for anticavity, antigingivitis and sensitive teeth + whitening gel (6x whitening in 1 week).  Visit the Main Street Dental office at 603 S. Main Street, winner will be notified by phone or text. Ends Oct. 31st!

Winter Freezer Meals
You will leave with ten freezer meals, ready to go! All groceries and necessary supplies will be provided. Please bring a large cooler, box or large bag to transport the meals home.
The cost is $100, payment must be received by Tuesday, October 16, make checks payable to Skyline Schools. Pick up dates are November 8 and 9 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Meals include: easy peasy roast, taco chili, lemon rosemary chicken, maple chicken, sweet potato pork chops, buffalo chicken, ham & bean soup, sweet garlic chicken, cheesesteak sloppy joe and sweet & spicy chicken.  Any questions, please contact Cheri Haskett at 620-388-6673 or chaskett@skylineschools.org. Each meal will feed a family of 4-6 people.
 
Lion’s Club Annual Drawing
Tickets available from any Lion’s Club member or you can pick them up at the Chamber. Tickets are $1 a piece or 6 for $5. Lots of great gifts and prizes including a side of beef donated by Xtra Factors & Pratt Feeders, processing by T&W Meats. Drawing will be held the second Wednesday of December.

PCC Men’s Basketball presents Pratt County Jamboree
Saturday, October 20 – 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Pratt Community College Lesh Arena & Blythe Family Fitness Center
Come out for a day of basketball with the PCC Men’s Basketball team. Other teams will be here as well to showcase their talents. Teams include Pratt Community College, Redlands CC, Northeastern Colorado CC, Garden City CC, Southeast CC, Lamar CC, Allen County CC and OnPoint Prep. Admission is $10, students 12 and under are free!

Biochar – Know it, Make it, Use it
Thursday, October 25 – 8:00 am to 3:00 pm
Pratt Community College
This workshop is designed for individuals interested in using biochar as a value-added component in composting, gardening, farming, windbreak management, or improving your soils and rangeland.

There is no cost to attend but we do request registration through the ticket link or by calling Pratt County Extension at 620-672-6121. Lunch is provided. https://www.facebook.com/events/682721785441305/

The workshop will cover the basics of biochar, including biochar applications, its effects on soil chemistry, and the difference between traditional charcoal and biochar. Following lunch, a burn demonstration will illustrate the latest in biochar burn techniques.

Rock the Vote – Election Day

The Pratt Area Chamber of Commerce’s Legislative Committee is sponsoring Free Ride Day in recognition of everyone’s right to vote on Tuesday, November 6. As Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “Those who stay away from the election think that one vote will do no good. Tis’ but one step more to think one vote will do no harm”. So on November 6 get your free rides with General Public Transportation by calling 620-672-7811. Let’s get out there and rock the vote! You do not need to vote to receive a free ride that day, however you will get a cool sticker if you do!
 
Charting the LifeCourse Event
Tuesday, November 6 – 9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Pratt Public Library – West Auditorium
Participants will learn how to have conversations with individuals and families about a vision for a good life and how to achieve it using the Charting the LifeCourse framework. They will explore how the life domanin helps plot a trajectory towards a successful life, across the lifespan. This is a free event for the community, however seating is limited so please RSVP to reserve your spot by calling Tasha or Linda at 620-672-9600. Limited scholarships are also available to help with travel costs.
