Extension Master Gardener Training
February 6, 2019 – March 27, 2019
Training will be a 8 week long class with a workshop each Wednesday. Registration will be $80 for anyone who signs up before October 1, 2018 and $100 for anyone to sign up after that date. Lots to learn, Basic Botany, Soils, Entomology. Vegetable Garden, Turfgrass, Indoor Gardening, Pesticide Use and much more.Contact the Pratt Extension office 620-672-6121 for more information.

This is a dynamic acoustic duo from Wichita, KS that performs hits from the 70’s through today’s hits.  Candice and the Business Casual has been playing all around, Mort’s Martini Bar, The Artichoke, The Brickyard in Kansas and Oklahoma for the past 8 years and are regular performers at Distilling Company and Aero Plains Brewing in Wichita to name a few.

Nex-Tech Visit

The Nex-Tech team will be in Pratt, KS on Tuesday, September 11th!  We will be visiting the area businesses to introduce ourselves!  What do we do? The experts at Nex-Tech know the day to day responsibilities can be stressful, whether you’re a small, medium or large business.  As a business owner, you’re busy with the visible tasks of running your business.  Let Nex-Tech take care of the rest.

Pratt County Extension Master Gardeners’ Lunch & Learn

Pratt County 4-H Building
Join the Master Gardeners’ as they welcome guest speaker, Dr. Jason Griffin, who will be talking about what trees are best suited to Pratt county. If you are interested in attending, please call the Extension Office at 620-672-6121 to reserve your spot. The registration fee is $10 and includes a light lunch and a chance to win a door prize!

Free showing of a short film documentary about a rising high school senior who sets out to uncover the growing problem of teens abusing prescription medicine in his hometown.
Followed by a panel discussion and Q&A.

Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the gate and are available by visiting Edward Jones  on the corner of Fourth & Main; Stull, Beverlin, Nicolay & Haas, LLC located at 1320 E. First Street, or the Pratt Area Chamber of Commerce located at 211 S. Main Street. Commemorative 35 oz beer steins are also available at those locations and are $25 while supplies last. Pratt High Class of ’91 Scholarship 5K Fun Run or 1 Mile Walk
Saturday, October 6 at 9:00 am
Lemon Park
Race begins and ends at Lemon Park. Race packets can be picked up starting at 8:30 am and will include t-shirt, race number and map. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 racers in Women’s, Men’s and Kids 12 & Under. Early Bird fees are available until Sept. 14th, 5K $25, 1 Mile Walk, $20 and guarantee a t-shirt. After Sept. 14, fees will be $30 for the 5K and $25 1 Mile Walk, t-shirts will be on a first come basis. Registration forms are available at the Chamber of Commerce or by contacting Lisa Morelan at 718 S. Iuka Street.

Permanent Collection Showcase
North Gallery

This exhibition highlights pastels and photographs from the Dr. Vernon & Emily “Mimi” Filley Permanent Collection. The exhibition also features new works of art that were recently donated to the museum permanent collection. Several of these pieces have not yet been on display at the museum. The 7 newly accessioned works include: A Lithograph by R.C. Gorman that was donated to the museum in 2017 by Dr. James and Mary Ann Van Blaricum; a bronze sculpture by George Lundeen that was donated to the museum in 2017 by Pratt Glass (LeRoy and Susan Jones); a ceramic vase and bowl by Carol Long that was donated to the museum in 2016 by the Larrison Family and Dough Brehm; a bronze sculpture by Tim Joseph commissioned and donated to the museum by The Shinkle Family in 2015; a spirited gear sculpture by Luis Perez-Aguayo that was donated to the museum in 2018 by Dale Withers; and the Courtyard Iron Gates by Dustin Sypher, which were commissioned and donated to the museum in 2014 by Doug & Kay Knight.
